| Invention Abstract | CMU’s technology enables wireless video communication between a moving vehicle and fixed ground stations. While systems with this basic capability exist today, CMU’s technology includes several improvements:
• Digital network cameras that process images and communicate bi-directionally and simultaneously with other network devices. This is a tremendous improvement over single-direction analog cameras that can only provide a video output signal. • Wi-Fi security protocols • IEEE 802.11g wireless standard • Dynamic bandwidth management Applications: security monitoring of passengers and unattended bags in ground vehicle passenger and operator compartments. This is an important step to allowing a vehicle to be disabled remotely if terrorist or criminal activities are detected. |
